Critique

An interesting entry of 20 dogs and again just one absentee. The entry consisted mainly of Mexican Hairless Dogs in the three size varieties and just two Korean Jindos. The best in the Mexican Hairless were very good indeed, but there was also a lot of variation. The KC standard calls for a scissor bite whereas the FCI standard is a little more lenient in also accepting a level bite. Some of the bites were not very good. I was also somewhat surprised to have a coated Mexican in the entry - this variety is naturally important in breeding, but they are not to be shown in FCI countries.

Sp PD(2) 1 Lockhart &Clifford's Sheldobchi Tlazohtlaloni. Miniature Mexican Hairless, just eight months old. Very typical puppy with quality head, nice eye and expression. Bite ok. Well bodied for age, but front needs a little more time. Good rear. Good skin. Nice side movement. 2 Illsley's Sheldobchi Tlanextic. Miniature Mexican Hairless, litter brother to firstst, but a coated specimen. Strong, masculine dog in need of better ring manners as he was rather unruly.

Sp JD (3) 1 Lockhart &Clifford's Sheldobchi Tlazohtlaloni. Winner of Sp PD. 2 Tanton &Turley's Angelcrest Casting Spells With Pazazz. Mexican Hairless, 16 months old old, nice type, but a little square. Would like better bite. Nice front and body, but needs to settle in rear movement as well as strengthen in the rear. 3 Turley's Warner Bros Ibah For Angelcrest. Mexican Hairless, 16 months old, would like him with better balance. Very nice head, eye and expression. Needs a better rear and movement.

OD(2) 1 Gordon's Multi/Int Ch Apancingo At Ammexbiche (Imp Mex). Intermediate Mexican Hairless, a most typical, quality breed representative. Delighted to find a dog of his calibre in the entry. Five+ year old, masculine male of lovely breed type. Beautiful head, eye and expression. Very well put together and balanced. Excellent skin. Beautiful mover. Best Dog and Best AV Imported Register Utility. 2 Daponte's Dutch Ch Morningcalm Not Chestnut TAF. Korean Jindo, five old, very pleasing, upstanding male, not in full coat. Handsome outline. Very good head. Nice bone. Would like him a little longer in ribcage. Good side movement. Reserve Best Dog.

Sp PB(2) 1 Turley's Rus Forever Bevina At Angelcrest (Imp Rus). Intermediate Mexican Hairless, 11 months old. Nice puppy bitch. Pretty, feminine head, excellent eye, well carried ears. Would like better mouth. Good body for age. Very good skin. Sound mover. Best Puppy. 2 Bruce's Sheldobchi Star Anise For Amiesta. Miniature Mexican Hairless, eight months old, super temperament. Nice puppy of good type. Head at the moment a little round, but time may help as she is so young, well carried ears. Good bite. Super skin. First scored in head and movement.

Sp JB(3, 1) 1 Griffiths &Turley's Angelcrest Witches Brew. Mexican Hairless, 17 months old, pretty feminine young bitch of good breed type. Nice head, but would like better bite. Well put together, nice length of body. Moved well once she settled. 2 Gorwill's Angelcrest Bare Necessity. Mexican Hairless, sister to Witches Brew, very pretty head, correct mouth, but would like her with better balance. Needs to improve in front. Excellent skin.

PGB(2) 1 Lockhard &Clifford's Hedehuset's Yatzy For Sheldobchi (Imp Dnk). Miniature Mexican Hairless, four+ year old bitch, correct type, pretty feminine bitch, but shown a tad plump. Very good head shape, beautiful eye and expression and well carried ears. Super skin quality. Delightful temperament. Once settled moved well. 2 Gorwill's Angelcrest Bare Necessity. Second in Special Junior Bitch.

LB(3) 1 Lockhart &Clifford's Warner Bros Merida Desde Le Coeur At Sheldobchi (Imp Swe). Miniature Mexican Hairless, three year old bitch of lovely type and proportions. Pleasing head, eye and expression. Strong, well made body. Good bite. Very nice mover. Best Bitch. 2 Nielsen's Morningcalm I'm So Smart Lux J Ch. Korean Jindo, 19 month old young bitch with plenty to like about her. Very feminine and sweet, good temperament. Not in full coat. Typical head, eye and expression. Very well put together. Just a little close going away, but very good side movement. 3 Lockhart &Clifford's Sheldobchi Tlapehuala. Mexican Hairless, two year old bitch with excellent quality skin. Feminine of nice type. Good head, but needs better ears. Good body, would like better front.

OB(6) 1 Roberts &Cawley's Ima Little Miss Sunshine. Standard Mexican Hairless, aptly named as together with her handler this team just oozed joy! Miss Sunshine has a very typical and good outline. Feminine, quality head of good length. Pleasing eye and expression. Correct bite. Very good skin. Soundly constructed and very good on the move. Reserve Best Bitch. 2 Nielsen's Morningcalm I'm So Smart Lux J Ch. Second in Limit Bitch. 3 Lockhart &Clifford's Rus Ch Hedehuset's According To Hoyle At Sheldobchi (Imp Dnk). Intermediate Mexican Hairless, almost five, feminine, happy bitch of lovely breed type. Charming head, good dark eye. Soundly made, but underline not at its best. Good mover.
